Skipping breakfast tied to higher risk of hardening in arteries
Lisa Rapaport
(Reuters Health) - People who skip breakfast may be more likely to develop atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, than individuals who start each day with a hearty meal, a new study suggests. ...
In addition to having the greatest risk of atherosclerosis, people who skipped breakfast also had the greatest waist circumference, body mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels.link

Interesting. I used to be a HUGE breakfast eater. Now I still eat breakfast, but it tends to be smaller and lighter... like a piece of fruit or a smoothie. But sitting here this morning, eating a small bowl of oatmeal and feeling how inadequate it seems, you've made me hungry. So I think I'll have a frittata... to lower my risk of atherosclerosis, and decrease my waist circumference, body mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar levels.. of course!

I prefer a full seven course breakfast. A six pack of beer and a bag of chips. Start the day right!
All seriousness aside -- my typical breakfast is a bowl of some whole grain high fiber cereal (I switch around different ones) with fruit, juice, and milk. Eggs about 1x week. Sometimes a whole grain bagel or muffin, fruit, and yogurt. I vary my diet.

May I present, the Doffle Bomb. To prepare the Doffle Bomb ($14), available only at brunch, executive chef Dieter Samijn starts with a half-doughnut, half-waffle dough made with butter, flour, milk eggs, yeast and sugar. The dense dough is shaped into two doughnuts and pressed gently in a waffle machine. Next, the doughnuts are deep-fried until puffy and covered in a powdered sugar glaze.
As if that wasn’t sweet enough, the rounds are topped with sprinkles and a scoop of vanilla ice cream then finished with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle.

I think I just felt my glucose level go up about 20 points. That picture is one way to lose a leg.

They're non-organic GMO berries. Oh, OK. As long as they have the Monsanto seal of approval.
