The pickle has been gulched. I repeat - the pickle has been gulched.

Despite all of the internet rumors, there was just a "little" drinking, and several tears shed for Chuck, for this somewhat small and sober/somber group. Many a glass was raised to toast Chuck, and a few of his old cigars smoked. I hope he could hear us. The hat was passed, in the absence of Chuck, to collect the money to reserve the spot for the 10th reunion next year, but I'll let Deborah continue this thread.

Is the date set for next year? Yeah, give us a date. I'll be there next year, I promise. Let's start a list: 1) red dog 2) Oh, we need more photos and stories from the 2015 event

Things I learned at PG 2015 (and a couple of days before):
1) The trees are vastly different than I'm used to. It's hard to get a good PCT hang with aspens and those pines. The ranger at Golden Gate Canyon State Park verified this ("Aspens are self-pruning") as did other locals. I did a modified version and heard the bear trying to take it down around 1:00 in the morning, but he was unsuccessful.
2) If a bear shows up we should either "throw ugly at it" or have the women scream at it. Roger is Big Ugly, and I'm apparently Little Ugly just because I happened to be sitting next to him at the time. All of this is per the host.
3) The bear bins are not for cooking, even if it's raining.
4) We should pray for the company that handles the reservations. On Monday Deborah is going to contact them regarding the Thursday snafu.

I can honestly say, I've never seen Rog so suave and debonair.

And to keep it "real", there actually was some backpacking involved, at least in my case. All of the wheelbarrows were in use by another group that was just arriving, so I did it the old fashioned way. I put my pack on and carried it in.

In past years, there was normally one whole picnic table that served as "The Bar". This year, there was nearly nothing.
