Hello everyone!
First time ever posting. Firstly, Id like to ask where are "hidden gems" or and backpacking/tent camping locations in or near greenville nc? We have gone to pisgah and asheville, but would like to find a weekend get away near greenville that we can go to every other weekend when we dont want to drive 3 or more hours. Bascially we want to stay within two hours of greenville. Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Joseph

Table Rock State Park is an option for frontcountry camping. There are nice day hikes either to the rocky outcrop at the summit or another one along the Foothills Trail. By the way, did you mean Greenville, SC or Greensboro, NC?

I believe he meant Greenville, NC, which is near the coast. seppie, have you looked at Croatan National Forest? I wasn't into backpacking when I was stationed up at Cherry Point, but I know they have some backcountry sites in the NF. Also, you might check Uwharrie NF.
