My husband and I just returned from hiking the Quilotoa Loop in Ecuador and we loved it. For those unfamiliar, the premise i's you hike from village to village, staying in hostels along the way. They provide dinner and lunch the next morning so hikers only need to carry clothing, water and snacks.....no need for tent/sleeping bag or cooking supplies.
Is anyone aware of other such trekking opportunities anywhere in the world? Looking to hike between places to stay without any other support.
Thanks!

It is possible to do the same thing in Scotland, on the West Highland Way. Several of us did a large portion last year. Some of the sleeping quarters were pubs, some hotels.

Also possible in the Dolomites (Italy). And in most of South America, you can hire a guide service pretty affordably. They will use stock to carry all the gear, prepare meals, set up camp, etc. We toured in Peru this way, using AventuraQuechua. Reasonable prices, and we had an excellent guide, with a lot of knowledge of the local history and geology.
