Anyone interested in meeting up in the Colorado Sangres around the end of June? I'd be especially keen to visit Willow Lake, or the Comanche/Venable loop area, or the Milwaukee Pass (aka Cottonwood Pass) area, but I'm open to suggestion. I realize that snow conditions may dictate the location to some extent.
I'm perfectly happy to go solo, but also wouldn't mind meeting up with a partner for some or all of the trip.
53 yo male, prefer trail days of 10 miles or less, like to include off-trail travel. I'm probably looking to be out 5 days max on this trip.

Update: If I do this as a solo trip, I'll probably do the Sand Creek/Milwaukee Pass loop. (Starting from Cottonwood Creek trailhead, south over the old Liberty Road to Sand Creek, then all the way up Sand Creek to Milwaukee Pass, then cross country through upper Cottonwood basin and down the Cottonwood "trail."
It's about 30 miles, and I'll probably plan on 4 days, which would leave time for an ascent of Broken Hand or Pico Aislado from upper Cottonwood Basin on the last day if the weather's good and I have the energy.

I might be interested in doing the hike in your first post. I'm 62, retired and my wife and I are traveling fulltime in our rv. We'll be staying in Villa Grove from early June until early July. She doesn't backpack but I do and have been interested in getting out in this area for quite some time.

Bump: still planning on doing this trip, starting Monday 6/26, if anyone is interested in meeting up or has info on conditions in the area.
