I like this shot showing my Mystery Ranch pack atop Hangover Mt in NC and looking towards the GSMNP with Gregory Bald in the middle left and Mt LeConte some ways to the right. This is a perennial favorite of mine as it captures the feel of a North Carolina snowstorm on a mountain ridge at 5,000 feet. Several years later I run into these guys pulling a surprise sleet storm at 5,300 feet on Bob Mountain in NC. High winds and driving ice makes for some great pics. And then there's always the boy scouts to watch as they hike in a blizzard.

FOTOGS PART 2 A NC cold snap at -10F showing the ice encrusted Hilleberg tent and the WM down bag shell-drying after a butt cold night. A neat shot of another group of scouts getting caught in a late October surprise cold storm. The kid in the middle is carrying a frozen tarp. I like my dog hanging out and happy to be with some new friends. Always like this shot of the Nashville Girls hiking thru a storm and getting water at a mountaintop spring. The reason I like this pic is because the guy on the right looks like he's wearing an oxygen mask for mountaineering. And finally, after a long day of postholing on a 12 mile route I pull in behind this group from Michigan pulling a 10 day March trip and it's nice as they break trail for me.

Another mountain goat in Black Elk Wilderness. This one was following the trail I was breaking through about 2 feet of fresh snow. When I turned around and saw him following me, I walked back to talk to him. He climbed a few feet off my trail and began nibbling on the trees. I, of course, snapped several photos.

I went to Egypt (Cairo and Alexandria) and Sudan (Khartoum) with my parents 28yrs ago. I loved Egypt but was not impressed with Khartoum, mainly because I was an immature 15yr old. I would love to revisit Khartoum now, and maybe head north along the Nile up to the cataracts, but fear I may have missed my opportunity. Nice to see your photo from there. Is this a new one or old? If new, will you post a Trip Report? Here's one from West Virginia, from the weekend:

This one's from last summer in Peru, the last night of our second trek (in the Huayhuash).
