swimswithtrout, have you seen the winning “Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2020“ photo? It does a tilt-shift lens treatment to the Andromeda galaxy which is pretty cool. I’m not generally a fan of that effect but it works here. www.bbc.com/news/in-pictures-54105085 Yes, I've seen it...posted at a "billion" different sites...Not my cup of tea......

Yeah, tilt-shift bothers me, but for some reason I liked this one, maybe because I really don’t know much about astrography. I can see how it would irk you.

A week ago today, this is what it looked like at 12noon..that's all smoke from my local fire... We then had 4 straight days of snow from Tues through Friday...Saturday featured the cleanest air I've seen in a LONG time, so I took advantage, and used every single minute of it, from the end of evening twilight, until the start of dawn ... According to the screenshot provided by echo in the OP of this thread, I stared the Random Photo thread 12 years ago today under the guise of user name "harquahala". In celebration of that event I'm reposting the first photo free of the adulteration by Photobucket. Thanks to echo and all those who have participated in its success.
This photo was taken during a road trip on Labor Day weekend to Young, Arizona in 2007.

Coolkat the depth of field in that shot is excellent. I love how it looks here and bet it would make a fantastic 3D picture.

echo, interesting photos. I'm wondering if this is in a Halloween museum? I'm wondering b/c of the beasty figures in the second photo.

autumnmist , no. It’s in my kitchen, then I use a free app called photo collage to cutout the human figure and put it on a different background. Only the blue background is still straight out of camera. the scenery and creature is a bathroom at Hogwarts in the first Harry Potter movie, when a wild Mountain Troll invaded the school.

echo, thanks. I guess you can tell I'm not knowledgeable of the Harry Potter sequences! I compliment your creativity though.
