What is it about waterfalls that are so wonderful? This reminds me of a lot of GaliWalker pictures

What is it about waterfalls that are so wonderful? There are so many waterfalls in my area that we tend to overlook them. #Spoiled

Good morning.
The last couple days were all about celebrating a sixth birthday, lock down style. Which involved some amazingly cool community things. People she never met sending her cards, and a restaurant owner having a package ready for her when we arrived for take out, students of my husband dropping home made paintings at our porch and the local fire chief driving in the big truck with lights and sirens (he also teaches 8th grade science at her school)
Now our locals are upset, Governor Newsom has announced that tomorrow all CA beaches are closed, and ours are extremely easy to stay all alone on, so there are muttering about being lumped in with the LA and San Diego area rules. We shall see how serious the muttering nutters are
Anyhow, other states may be easing restrictions, but CA is still grounded and can’t have friends over to play.

Good morning. I went out for provisions this morning, and Trader Joe’s was comfortably empty. No waiting to go in, and the limited number of shoppers allowed means little waiting for a checker, too. I managed to get it all home on the bike, though I think I heard some ominous creakings. That might have been my knees, though.

Listened to our county health officer and the chief of police on the radio. They said with a population density of 27 people per square mile, versus LA at 2000 - our beaches and trails that you can walk into will stay open.
I know it’s not fair to those in the city, but I’m relieved.

It's been quiet in this thread, so Good Morning everyone! It's going to be in the high 80s here in Texas, and the humidity is building. Restaurants and other businesses are opening at 25% capacity, but our COVID-19 number is still going up. So I'm staying home and out of groups of people. It's easy for me - my children are grown and my job has all but disappeared with the advent of people working from home. And with the warm temps, we will soon be able to use the pool. echo - Glad you can still enjoy your beaches and trails. I saw the pics on the news from the LA beaches, and it was crazy. The park where we hike is getting busier every weekend. They recently started doing crowd control. Hope y'all have a great weekend!

Morning, everyone! We’re having a little change in our weather, some cooler temps and if we are very lucky, we’ll get a bit of rain. I need to head out and do my hike/bike before it gets either warmer or wetter, depending on which way it jumps :D

That looks so lovely, echo. We went for our weekly hike this morning and arrived at the park at 7:30. The city has changed the policy there (effective this past Tuesday), and once the parking lot is full, the park is closed for the day. The last person into the park got there just ahead of us, and we were turned away. Lesson learned. Next week, we will be there by 6:30. There are many more people using the trails these days -- since we go every weekend, we see many "regulars," but now we are seeing lots of unfamiliar faces. Unfortunately, we don't have many nearby options for 5-8 mile hikes through the woods and around the lake. Happy Sunday, y'all.

I learned a new term from a TV series I started watching "Divine Nonchalance". I like it.
After sighting a Baltimore Oriole yesterday, we put up our first ever oriole feeder. Keeping our fingers crossed. Mama robin is firmly set on the nest outside our bathroom window. A nuthatch was gathering up the fur we pulled from our dog yesterday.

I did a grocery run this morning for us and for my in-laws. Pretty quiet at Safeway at 9 a.m., no line to get in, and most people were obeying the mask rules (not all). But hardly any of us managed to get the little arrows in the aisles right! I can’t seem to hunt for the stuff I need AND look at road signs. This is why you don’t text and drive, folks!

I had a teleconference today and decided to do it on my back porch. It was nice watching the birds, squirrels, and woodchucks all going about their daily business.
The orioles adapted quick to the feeders. They're even using the one hung right by our picture window.

Rereading the above post, I’m wondering if it isn’t OOC worthy, but I never figured out the whole how to quote, let alone how to quote in a different thread, but doing it on the porch on a teleconference sounds more interesting than any morning I’ve had recently

Took care of it for you, echo I did too much hike yesterday (it was wonderful and I don't regret it), and worked a couple of blisters on my heels. I've hardly EVER done this in the last 20 years, but these boots have done it off and on since I got them. Not sure why sometimes I can hike 13 miles without trouble, and sometimes it rubs from almost the first step. OTOH, I've been experimenting a lot with my inserts lately and may have done something that changed the fit a little. Now I have to take a few days off from hiking, and just bike.
