I'll be in Huntsville next week for a conference and hope to do some dayhikes in the evenings. Any ideas? Anything I should see in Bankhead Nat'l Forest? Looks beautiful. Thanks.

The Sipsey Wilderness portion of the Bankhead is very nice. It's also about a 75 minute drive each way. Check out Land Trust of N Alabama and Monte Sano SP. Plenty of trail there. Anything on Monte Sano or Blevins Gap Preserve is a short drive (depending on where your conference is.)

Maybe check out the Walls of Jericho...probably an hour east and north of Huntsville....just north of Scottsboro....

Walls of Jericho is more of an all day hike. If you only have a few hours in the evening, I wouldn't recommend that. I plan to make that an overnighter with my kids.
