There are times - all too frequent - when I believe that we bipedal human do not deserve to be where were are in the hierarchy/food chain. Sure, there's always competition for food, space, resources, from microbes, fungi, and bacteria on up. But when we allude to our "higher intelligence", who are we kidding?

Hatred for wolves is so deeply rooted that for many, they can't even be described without sinister terms. Fear of snakes is very similar. Some people can't even think about a snake without violent thoughts. As a species, we lack the moral fortitude to possess the means without turning to violence as a solution, even to threats that are more perceived than real.
