I'm not sure I can add much to what's been said, but here goes.Do you use hiking poles while hiking? Yes If yes, what poles do you use? Can't recall offhand and too lazy to go look. BD, I think. Maybe REI. What are your dislikes? Occasional slippage in the adjustment, and a funny click that comes from the annoying shocks I had to lock out. What are your likes? Prevents any number of face plants. What would make them better? Cork handles at a more ergonomic angle If no, why not? What would make you want to use poles? What are the main things you pack in your backpack? Everything. Except my camera and snacks, which are in a belt pouch for quick access. Is it a hassle to get things out of your pack? Define "hassle." I can get what I need well enough. What do you want quick access to in your pack? Rain gear. How often/long are you on the trail? usually 2 5-7 day trips and maybe a weekend or two. What would be really cool to see incorporated in a hiking pole? Can't really think of anything, though a camera mount would be useful, and I kind of like the idea of a chair kit (I know there is such out there). I wouldn't want any kind of chair thing built into the pole as that would add weight and make it awkward. How much would you spend on a “multifunctional” hiking pole? Unless it will carry my pack for me, no more than I pay for a good pair of poles already. $75-100.
