I'm planning on section hiking or maybe even thru hiking the MST in NC. Was wonder in there was anyone on here who has done it, or even just some sections. The info I'm looking for is what to expect, camping, road walking, etc. Thank you! I've done some research on the Friends of the MST website, just wanted a ground level opinion.

The Trail Journals website does have a number of journals covering that trail and from reading those you could glean a lot of the info you are looking for.Or,even contact the hikers themelves through the journal/site.
Also,if you haven't checked already, the whiteblaze site does cater to more east coast trail section/thru-hikers...

ive only done the part of the trail that is in the Smokys..............and there it follows other trails...
but, yeah, whiteblaze would have more info along with there is a book on the this trail that is out there.......
not sure how accurate it is and i think its a few years old.....

I think there's still a fair amount of road walking.

I think there's still a fair amount of road walking. That was my impression as well. I did't think there is a true MTS "Trail".
