was shocked and saddened to see Chuck D and others had passed away :( Welcome back among us, nic . There were a lot of sad changes while we were in diaspora, and not everyone got the word, which makes it even sadder in some ways. Losing Chuck shook us all to the core.

nic Yes, losing Chuck D was a surprise to all of us. If you read back through the 4 pages, you will find many have left us.

I never met him in person but talked some here and on Facebook. Others would have a better tribute but I wanted to say RIP Wheelz

Another sad loss to cancer. CGap was a delightful man to talk to, and his stories and adventures were one of the forums highlights many times. RIP Daryl Hannah.

Just popped in to look around. I had no idea we had lost CGap. I am truly affected by this loss. (atrb_partsz)
I really should stop by here more.
Great pic above of Wheelz. We grew up about 20 miles apart thorough the woods and Gamelands in PA. It wasn't until years after did we hook up for some trail and fun winter camping up along Lake Superior. We even knew some of the same people "back home".

When I found myself reading the Sunday obituaries looking for the names of folks around town, I knew I was getting old.

I have not been here for a while. Normally, Dan Willshire (aka thegriz) and I always did a spring hike this weekend. He passed away in December after a long fight with cancer. A picture of Dan. (He always flew prayers flags in honor of Mataharahiker. )

Thanks, firebug, for letting us know about thegriz . Sorry to learn this, and sorry for your loss of a friend and hiking partner. May he rest in peace.

I just discovered that Motts died on this date in 2020, suddenly is all that was listed in his obit. I am aware of his struggle with some heart issues, and his T2 diabetes. Motts was 61 when he died. He was at PG a couple of times, so maybe I can snag a pic. Motts on the far left.

Oh, wow... I talked to him briefly last May (2020.) He was working for Lyft, job-hunting but finding it difficult during the pandemic. He had a long fare from South Bend, Indiana to Battle Creek, Michigan, wanted to know if I was somewhere nearby (I wasn't.) I remember thinking recently that I hadn't seen any posts from him here or on FB. So sad. Thanks for letting us know, zeke . THE DUDES... Pickle Gulch 2017.

Wow. I hadn’t heard either. I’m pretty sure I was at PG with him one time. 🙁
