Oh, Foggy. It is sad news truly. Who else has quite his sense of the good things in life?

I'm truly saddened by the news. He was so funny, odd, etc. He will be missed by many.

Some of you might not remember him, but we lost RichB a few years ago as well, to cancer. He was a quieter member of the Forums. I reflected back on RichB a couple weeks ago while going through old photos. He was quite a guy. I'm glad I had a chance to meet and hike/backpack with Rich a few times. He was truly a fantastic person.

Mata posted a photo of one of her shelters with the prayer flags hanging from it. That is one memory I have of her. I would like to see that photo again if anyone has it.

Allen Staboa used the name Stumped here. He lived in Grants, NM, but I met him in Michigan and did a couple of trail hikes with him. I have been searching for him now over a few years but can find no trace of him.
Cleaning out a desk drawer tonight I found a photo of the two of us doing a section of the North Country Trail in the L.P.
He enjoyed canoeing, backpacking, just being out. He referred to me as Death March Doug half the time.
I fear Allen has passed away, too.
This thread is a very good idea.

Because some may not check in The Health and Fitness thread, and this one stays less active in thread counts so this stays visible for a long time, I thought I'd be presumptious enough to repeat the mention that Tom, of the couple @dontom has passed away, and say again, I'm very sorry for the loss.

Just read through this thread. We've lost too many. I've lost too many years not being out there with you guys. Let's change that and get on the trail!

Unfortunately, a lot of getting older is dealing with loss; loss of friends, loss of loved ones, and much else. -Lott

Unfortunately, a lot of getting older is dealing with loss; loss of friends, loss of loved ones, and much else. Sadly true. And this is a pretty large community, so it's inevitable. Doesn't make it any more fun :-(
