Does any one have any experience with the Under Armours Fat tire Boot/shoe? There are no stores around me that carry them so i would have to buy online. I have been wearing Lems Bouldars and Primal 2's for this past summer. They are a minimalist shoe. The UA Fat tire intrigues me but I would like to here from others that didnt get the shoe free to do a review Thanks

Got to say I've never even heard of them. Looks like you're the gear tester on this one.

They haven't been in the shoe business very long. They're probably licensing someone else's processes. I'd be interested to know whose. If the price is right and the fit is good I'd consider trying, but I tend to stick with what works for me for as long as I can get them.

They've been out about five minutes, hardly likely there's a ton of experience yet.
Otoh I've got the same sense with them as Arc'teryx: clothing companies doing tech footware give me an itch until proven otherwise. Which takes longer than five minutes on the market....

The thing is, if I have a shoe that works, I don't just get the latest thing on the market, I go with tried and true. I can't just wear any old shoe. I'm going to wear the ones I have until they are dead and get another pair because they work for me. And if there isn't a model of a shoe that does NOT have Goretex the chances of me trying it just decreased by 100% because I won't wear Goretex again without a gun to my head....
We backpackers can be pretty picky because the wrong shoes can be hell. I have shoes that work, thanks. I can get them at a good discount, because they aren't all gimmicky. Why would I try two hundred dollar shoes when I have a sure thing for less than eighty?

I agree they arent for every one. They might not even be for me,hence my questions. They have been out for a bit,at least a year. They have them with hand with out goretex.

Ah, I just saw them for the first time this summer. The Arc'tyrex ones I know are older too, at least a year maybe?
I do like my La Sportiva Synthesis but they've been in the shoe/boot business forever so the less classic materials were less of a concern when I decided to give them a try.

Those high uppers look like they could be cumbersom. I'd stick with something along the lines of trail runners.
Or climbing approach shoes if you need something stickier.

That is a seriously beefy sole. Seems like overkill.

Those are hideous. And did I see a 199.00 price tag?
Seriously, you're "intrigued" by those?.........
Have you ever hiked off of paved trails before?

My meaning is that I've seen a fair amount of ex-military folks that take time to let go of the military gear/training mentality to adopt more modern lightweight gear and techniques.
