Sure. That's why I put Scout in the title?
Yeah they say 4-6 man days and that's my target range if interest as I said. Things crazy light.
I got a notice from Pakit Gourmet they're having a sale: should head over and give them a try.

A friend of mine says it's a pretty good beer cooler - just add ice. (For a six pack, I suppose.)

Makes sense: stand up a six pack of bottles and pour the ice in.
Hmm, now I'm thirsty.
[Goes looking for the Negra Modelo]
Heh, the one thing that makes those Yeti coolers look reasonably priced....

Sure. That's why I put Scout in the title? Just wanted to point this out as it seems all the respondents referenced the weekender.

Ooh - I bet you could get a lot of these in a bear can. An absolute necessity ... and you could even add some individual half-n-half containers! Seriously, though, I'd consider packing in some bacon jerky. Yum.

I thought the scout has been around for at least 10 years.

I've had the Scout for at least 5 years and can get 6 days of food, but I dehydrate my own then package into individual servings. Mostly mashed potatoes pinto beans, brown rice, tomato-chile bark, peas, okra, kale, cajun trip mix, corn tortilla chips and dried-smoke flavored salmon for dinners....small granular stuff. I think next time I will try pre-measuring the ingredients into larger common bags for a better fit into the can.
The Scout is not permitted in some western Parks, but the Weekender seems to be universally accepted.

It does mean going back to washing dishes, but less bulk from packaging can start to matter when it's 2-4 people for a week or more.

It does mean going back to washing dishes, re: bulk packaging. You could take new qt or pint zips, and rehydrate the meal in whatever number of portions you need. Then the only time they would need to be in bear proof containers would be after use. Might even be able to rinse out and reuse. I have seen this done with rice and pasta so they don't poke holes in the cooking bag.

Might even be able to rinse out and reuse. Definitely a possibility; we usually rinse and dry our bags after use. But at that point, if you have to get the bag clean enough to reuse, might as well clean the bowl!

I thought the scout has been around for at least 10 years. Really? The weekender and the expedition are the two I'm familiar with until just this past summer when I read a reference to the Scout somewhere. Having never needed something that small I guess I was blind to it.

Yeah, it has been around quite a while. I saw it on their web site probably 8 years ago.

Just for those who are thinking about getting a bearikade, Wild Ideas will also provide custom length cans.
