Well, I am back from over a week in Arizona staying with a close friend. While there I tried to maintain as much as possible the lifestyle changes I have been making. I was eating the food my friend provided so it was kinda up to me to keep portions small, which I did. I am not too worried about the gain of a pound in weight because a person's weight goes up and down naturally anyway.
But now that I am back home I am fully in charge and feeling good about continuing with changing my life towards a healthier outcome. I think the next thing to add is regular uphill hiking. I would say a twice a week getting in 3000' elevation gain is doable with my current schedule.
So yes, I am back in the saddle again!

Rumi, it may not be to your liking, but. I sometimes put just olive oil on my salads. Having said that, it's usually really good olive oil which can't be found in a normal, or even high end grocery store. FWIW, be cautious of the source of your olive oil. The Sicilian mob has reportedly gained control of a big chunk of the Italian olive oil trade and waters down high end olive oil with low grade olive oil and even sunflower/canola oil. California olive oil is reportedly labelled honestly. LINK
