There are lockers for food. Just don't leave your bear bag in there like I did.
I don't recall any electricity, but others know far better than I.

Sunday afternoon, 2:30 start, Denver Broncos play the Dallas Cowboys at Mile High. Anyone who is trying to cross town via 70 might think about using 470 to get to I-25. Traffic will be snarled for sure, since that will be a big game and it will be only week 2 so all fans will still have their hopes up.

Hmm... I think that's me, since my flight out is sometime around 4:30pm. Thanks for the heads up. I would take 470 south - connect with it as you are coming into the metro from the west - and continue on it to the east then back north to the airport. That would allow you to avoid I-25 completely. Just be aware that the east section of 470 is toll. You will be going the opposite way of most football traffic.

470 is pretty far out of the way. Coming Back on Sunday, I would take I-70 to I-76 East, then jog down on I-270 east until you get back to I-70. You could also continue on I-76 until you hit E-470 but then you'd have to pay tolls, and the distance would be about the same. 270 does get a bit congested at times, but it's usually a little better on weekends, and you don't have to contend with football traffic....until you hit the east section of I-70 which won't be nearly as bad as it is closer to downtown. 470 is pretty far out of the way. That's true, but it's also simple for someone not familiar with the highways around here. That's what I was thinking about.

A lot of the rental car places ask the drivers to not drive tollway (as it is all automated now). So she might need to prepare for that. Not sure how they handle tolls.

Not sure how they handle tolls. The rental car agency will forward the bill to you, probably with something added on.

Yes, there are several agencies along the whole length of the road and the tolls trickle in over a couple weeks to a month. It's kind of a pain for doing travel vouchers. The big rental car companies charge about $5 to use the capability, at least on corporate accounts.

he big rental car companies charge about $5 to use the capability, Yes. I'd forgotten that. At least, in Boston last year, they would rent us a transponder for $5/day, whether we used it or not. We opted to pay cash (most of the toll roads there still had that option). Not sure what they do on 470, if it's all cashless then they photograph plates and send a bill (what they do on the GG Bridge now), in which case you can expect the rental agency to send you the bill with something tacked on.

It typically shows up as additional, delayed, stand-alone charges on the card you used to rent the car. There's something in the fine print of the rental contract that constitutes your prior consent.

I think I can just worry about the routes when I'm ready to leave. I've dealt with rental cars and unmanned tolls before; ends up being a few dollars more but seems to work smoothly enough.
