The funny stories about drinks, at Pickle Gulch, seems to be shifting from booze to coffee. This year the coffee drinkers had plenty of coffee available AND had a pot to perk it in. But, oops those are coffee beans, not ground coffee. BigLoad and a few others came to the rescure with an improvised grinding station.
It turns out I had a map for that area in the stack of Nat Geo maps in my luggage. The trail to Crater Lake is marked as "indistinct" or something like that, so I guess the recent changes attempt to officialize it and hopefully withstand the greater use it now gets.
