An accordion and a tuba propped up in your campsite with several bottles of whiskey and rifle casings scattered about tends to keep people away. I've found that fake okra and brussels sprouts have the same effect but are much smaller and lighter. ETA: Plus, they're good for throwing at the guy with the tuba and accordion.

I'm into ultralight. Leave the tuba at home and just take the accordion.
