Hi almostthere, I have two pairs of Hoka Bondi's coming my way (two sizes because I have to test, one will go back). I've been looking into the Hokas since this started. There's been some disagreement amongst Podiatrists about whether they are stiff enough... They certainly are cushiony enough, but some of the m do flex in the forefoot. The stiffest is the Stinson, but it doesn't come in Wide sizes which is what I need. Only the Bondi does. I am hoping they will help.
Hoka's won't get me through a NYC late fall-winter, though. That's where the Hiking Shoes comes into play. Interestingly, Hoka does make Hiking shoes and they appear to have the same thick, cushioned sole as the running/walking shoes.

Hokas don't have to be stiff. You walk and follow the rocker motion of the shape of the sole without flexing the foot.
