Testing...
Okay, it didn't work. I still can't figure out how to save "personal" smilies and emoticons. Bp2go, I removed the img when I saved it. But when I click to add a smiley and then go to "Personal Smilies," I just see a little box with an X in it. Nothing happens when I click that box.

Woodsie - Find a smiley you like and copy its URL. PC people always say to right-click to get that! Open your Profile here, and on the right side of the window, see EDIT PROFILE. In that new window, see SETTINGS as a link in the line of options at the top. In that window, scroll down to see a list of spaces; here's what my list looks like: Your Personal SmiliesAdd and remove your personal smileys. Note: Removing a smiley from your list will not remove it from your posts. X i88.photobucket.com/albums/•••••_zpsect13ymw.gifPaste in your captured URL, but REMOVE anything before the http, and after the .gif or .jpg. NO IMG or URL: tags! Hit the button to save changes. With luck, your new smiley will be ready when you compose your next message. You may have to scroll down in that smiley window to find it.

So I find the gif I want. I paste the URL into my profile, save changes, etc. When I try to put it in a post it's shown under my personal smilies, but I can't get it to display in a post. Oops, there it is! I dunno what happened. Oops, wait, it shows up here but not in a real thread... Ah hah! I was trying to post it without anything else - not even blank space. Once I added something else I displayed. I then deleted the random text.

The idea is that you open your Profile, Edit>Settings> bottom of the window, paste URL of clever smiley, tap the button to Set Changes, then also the bottom button to save settings.. Then it should show up at the bottom of your smiley menu. So, I just tried to add a new "personal smiley", and I don't see anything at the bottom of the Settings tab to do so. There is a "Delete Account" option, if you're trying to trick me into that.

I don't see anything at the bottom of the Settings tab I just reinstalled the plug-in, then checked my own settings. The Smilies area is back!

I'm really annoyed with the smilies, yo. Why are the smilies different from the "quick reply" page to the "reply" page? 95% of the time I use the Quick Reply and I like the smilies better there, but when I select it a smiley, it changes the smiley to whatever was on the "Reply" area. For instance, this is the "sad face" smiley. Screen captures forthcoming. Banging my head against the wall, for reals.

I have to take the heat on this one! The reason? Three years ago when I was assembling this forum, I was naive as to smiley codes! If I ever added one it was from a menu, not manually typing the key codes such as :( etc. So when I wanted to add some larger and different characters, I grabbed the URLs from a variety of sources and replaced several of the stock set.
Uh, it took some time before I started seeing people ask why the usual keyboard codes were not turning out as expected? Simple answer is that I paid no attention to the text codes, figuring that were too arcane and people would prefer a drop-menu to SEE the character! I was wrong, but I have never been able to fix that!
Because of this question today, I promise to go to Support and ask how to replace a list with a default set? I'm on the case. :(

test :( Okay, I fixed the sad face, but I can't see the little smileys well enough to figure out which one is crying! But I will work on this.
