We've had a(left leg lame) coyote roaming and 'shopping' on a timer. At 5-5:15a he leaves the next door neighbor's back yard, sees me, ambles across the street and goes up the block at a slow lope. Stops for traffic looks both ways and on to the next meal with fewer intruders.
My town borders LA on the west, Pasadena on the North, and a very large population within the bowels of the San Gabriel Valley.
A neighbor mentioned that he had heard that something had burst through a screened open window and scared the bejesus out of the family cat.
Our cats bristle at the sight of it and move to watch from more inside the house on a chair.
There are a few more lost/reward signs hoping for a return of a cat or small dog stapled on to the wooden utility poles near by. People should not leave pets outside anyway. A coyote enters my yard along the fence line trots down the length of it to the back fence then to the other side fence then does a quick survey of the bushes along the house, then off to the next yard - vaulting a 6 foot fence. And so on down the block. Its about 20 seconds for a full perusal of a large yard.
