It was great to be back at this iconic park, which is one of the finest in the country and once under consideration to be a national park. It had rained quite a bit, so there was a lot of water. Mist hung in the trees and concealed the glens, everything glazed with a veneer of moisture. The creek was roaring and the waterfalls were spectacular. I also enjoyed all the huge trees, such as the hemlock and tulip poplar. A beautiful hike on a trail I haven't been on much over the last several years.
