I think this is the stuff I carry: I looked at the link you gave. It says it's good for rainwear so I'm assuming it's water proof?? I ask because while it's ok to get wet while hiking, it's no fun at all to get wet while in your own tent. I'd still seam seal the edges. Thanks Zeke! but can I ask the dorky question as to what do you use for seam seal?

McNett's Seam Sealer sold at all sorts of sporting goods places. Bass Pro, REI, or online at Amazon and directly from McNett's. You could also just use clear silicone caulking diluted with denatured alcohol, but that is a mess to work with.
Seam Seal will leave a tacky surface, so be sure to dust it with something tolerable. I use talcum powder.

And I'll concur: though I've used the patch material on rain gear, etc., with no issues, I'd go ahead and slather some seam sealer on it anyway, whether you sew the patch or use the sticky stuff (which is at least mostly waterproof as far as I can tell).

I agree, the Kenyon repair tape is very effective and easy to use. My car camping tent has a few patches on the walls, and an ocean of patches on the floor. So far none of the repairs have failed. The bag in which my pack conducts air travel is even more speckled with such repairs. The repairs will outlive the bag.

This is all good to know everyone. Now I can spend my money on other more "needful" things.
