Well, FWIW I'm not making it this year. Too much to do at home (yeah, I know, it's a lame excuse), not to mention heading overseas soon after PG. I'll try to make it again next year, if PG continues and Deborah, MsD, Mike, and others allow me.

Attention, Pickle Peeps: Please plan to provide a perfect panorama portrait of participants!
Get everybody arranged in a long group and get a few photos. No human pyramids, no six across and six deep. Nope, a line of faces left to right.
¿Por qué? It would be nice to replace the photo in the banner with an updated shot of some real forum hard-core! Actual members, not some stock image from a photo supply site.
Please note that the image in the banner is a little clipped from a standard 35mm format, and way different from a smartphone camera. The subject matter needs to be not so tall but wide is good.
Take your shots ...then take some pictures. There will be a thread in the Photo sections to display your Pickle Pix, and one or two will be used in the banner with fame and glory for the photographer.

Can you refresh our memory about the aspect ratio for that photo? It may be easier to get some good candidates if we know exactly what we are shooting for (uh, sorry). |

From what I can see on the banner, it looks like it is almost a perfect 1:2 height to width. |

the aspect ratio for that photo height: 180px; width:400px So you figure out how to see that when taking a photo! |

20:9. That's about half the height of one of the standard sizes in Lightroom. The "wide" setting on my camera (really just an in-camera crop) is 16:9, so using that could get me close, recognizing that I'd need to go still wider in post-processing.
