Let's just say that I am in the most popular age category for forum members (but WAY down at the lower end!)...

REI may want to rethink their gear selection.

Oy. Well, so far we are mostly the old familiar faces, though I didn't realize they were such old faces. But maybe as things get moving again we can rope in the 25-35 crowd once more (yeah, I know that many of those who were in that crowd when they started here are in an older one now. I've moved up a category myself since then).

I think the walker thing with wheels would not be allowed in Wilderness Areas, I could be wrong, needs mountain bike size anyhow. All Terrain Walker.

I'm a couple weeks from being 28 for the second time. Maybe if I'm still doing it wrong, they'll hold me back yet again.

The young ones spend more time hiking and less time in these forums.

Younger versus older adults use social media sites at a higher rate. royal.pingdom.com/2010/02/16/study-ages-of-social-network-users/That alone fits well with our age poll graph that shows members here tend to be older. Fair numbers of younger millenial adults never really were web forum participants before the age social media took off. And before that many were AOL forum users that really never fit the usual forum roll but was rather a social thing. A person that was 25 in 1995 is 45 today. One ought expect those millenials who have been become entrenched in social media sites will have only minor interested in becoming active members of web forum sites populated by older folks unless they are more hard core enthusiasts.

When filling out some forms on the computer, I am always surprised at how much I have to keep scrolling down, down, down until I get to my birth year. Crimminy!

When that happens, I start to worry about whether my birth year is even on the list. Our continued existence may be threatened by developers limiting the options.
