From one noon to another welcome aboard, so far they seem harmless.

My 24-year-old son did it last summer and had a great time. How old did you say you were? He could use a little light in his life right now. Anyway, have great trip this fall nd stick around the forums. Glad to have you aboard. Haha! I'm almost 22! I did my trip three summers ago. Thank you! If you ever come up North to PNW, we can help you out! We are much more schooled on damp, cold hiking than desert. Hey! That's where I live! I'll definitely be able to use your advice anyways If you really want to understand hiking and the female mind, study Christine Thuermer's adventures, the German Tourist. Thanks for the link! It describes exactly what I experienced on my bike trip! Thank you for the welcomes, all! As for the bacon- HEY NOW. I'm no bacon hater. I will accept all of you as you are in your bacon love. I just ain't as much about that life. Namaste, dudes.

WHAT? What is this beautiful place?? Sangre de Cristo Range in Colorado. I have lots of great stories from there. You sound like fun. You can crash my campfire anytime.

WHAT? What is this beautiful place?? Just North of the Sand Dunes there are some really great trails that head up Crestone* Creek, Rito Alto Creek, Cotton Creek and many others. It's possible to spend several days there, even on weekends and not see another soul. It truly is a beautiful area. * you will probably see people here as the loop trail is popular...for good reason.

That area was the first place we took our boys on a real multi-day pack trip (never mind that it was only 13 miles and took us 3 1/2 days. They were LITTLE). Gorgeous country, and the Great Sand Dunes are among my top 3 dune fields Someday I hope to get back there early enough in the year for the creek to be running, and surging, as it was on our first visit (must've been right at the beginning of June, 1997).
