Rampage the Roots ultramarathon. No, I don't run the thing but only provide radio comms over the 2 days of the 3 races. I know Alex (the director) would appreciate getting the word out if you or anyone you know does these kinds of events.

I'm a long distance off-trail walker. Does that count?

I'm a short-distance trail runner Same here, I think the longest I've done on a trail was a little over 20 miles. But I would like to do a 50K some day. This sounds like a really cool race, I'll file it away for future reference.

"FOOLS GOLD 50M"
"GHOSTS OF THE YELLOWSTONE 100M"
Cool names. I know some people who do amazing long trail runs. I run in my normal life and reward myself with hiking when I can get away.

I'm a long distance off-trail walker. Does that count? Can you pull off 100 miles in 38 hours? I was at the aid station at 38 miles a few years ago when the leader comes in (he ultimately won) and he's not even breathing hard. I commented on it and he replied "Well, the last 6 miles was downhill...". Funny...

Thanks. I'll pass this around a few Facebook groups I'm part of.
I'm not a "runner" by any stretch of the imagination. But I can plod along for long distances... oft referred to as the "Clydesdale" division. Actually, the reason I started trail running is because I was so horrible at it.

Can you pull off 100 miles in 38 hours? Heck - In the terrain I hike in, I'd be lucky to do that in ten days.

But I can plod along for long distances... oft referred to as the "Clydesdale" division. Locally, there's the Wild Irish Run (10k) around St. Patrick's Day. They have a "Troll" division for men over 200 pounds. Seems light for such.

I have a pipe-dream about doing the Leadville 100 one day (right now I'm just trying to get back in form for a half mary). I think it's more about being there with legends like Rob Krar than anything. I mean, when you're doing 100 miles over that terrain at that altitude and your mile splits are 8:15 over the last couple of miles, I'm impressed.

Me too! longest I've ever done is about 11 miles, and the longest I can run now is 3. I have been doing mixed running/hiking for 5-6 miles, though, and it's nice to be able to cover the distance! But sadly I'll never be able to do the ultras, or even the marathons I was thinking of when my body went "sproing."
