And GCSaylor, don't be scared off if the wild bunch here asks you a bunch of weird questions...things about beets (or beats), bacon, and...I don't remember the rest. Careful Newbie. You spill the beans and we may have to take you out back and make you wear the kilt. Some of those guys who didn't bring enough food might eat the spilled beans anyways.

....There! Back as the Beepster. But my okra avatar is going to get replaced, it's just not me. Not to hijack this thread but I do see several incorrect attempts at tagging. First, the tag must be aimed at the registered name. In my case, the name bp2go is a display name, the registered name is Admin. Second the symbol to use is the at symbol, @. And no space between the symbol and the name. So a proper tag will look like this BEFORE you post it: @admin and then the display name will be substituted when it's posted and the name will be a link like this: Admin To check a person's registered name, roll over the name above the avatar and a tooltip pops up with the registered version. The clue is when a member has a space in their display name, or capped letters; neither of which will be allowed when registering. So there's a chunk of news. And a belated welcome to all the new names.

The "registered name" thing is gonna throw people off, lol. My Forum name is BlueBear, but the registered account name is my old moniker, gobluehiker (which if you put it with an "@", turns into BlueBear ). Seems like a kinda odd, unintuitive quirk in the system if you ask me. And my doughnuts don't have enough sprinkles on them. See if you can do something about that, Admin.

I'm in a real pickle these days. Should we add pickles to the questionnaire? If so, what kind? Ahhhh... never mind.

The "registered name" thing is gonna throw people off, Yes, but I didn't design the system, and it is what it is. I have seen several tags that were done wrong, just thought I'd try to make it clear. I do step in and correct broken tags when I can. PS: watch your email for zip file. I sent a bag of sprinkles from the lunchroom. Enjoy.

Speaking of tags and names, I had to experiment to figure out how to get "the Beepster" to work. Those spaces caused a few glitches with the tagging.

The registered name is bp2go, but you figured that out. Roll over the Beepster name and the tooltip pops up with the correct tag. This name change stuff coming up is pretty cobfusing.!

Howdy Beepster, how do you feel about beets, Brussels sprouts, kilts, Scotch and bacon?

That was a joke, right? I realize I failed to mention that the octothorpe* was a symbol that some have used; it fails! *Yes, that's really the name of that symbol. We call it the pound sign or now, hashtag. But its real name is octothorpe!

Howdy Beepster, how do you feel about beets, Brussels sprouts, kilts, Scotch and bacon? He's a rouge monkey. Or chimpanzee, or whatever. My guess is that he's big on scotch, probably bacon, and if you haven't seen him drunk in a bar on karaoke night wearing his kilt, well, you've got at least one item still on your bucket list.

Actually, if I remember correctly, he's more of a Tequila drinker.

Thanks for fixing my tag bp2go, I knew that. I'm using a tablet mostly so 'Rollover' isn't possible. It's all good. I'm fine with Brussel Sprouts, avoid the beets only because of the sugar. love scotch and bacon,,, hmmm I could see a kilt being handy hiking attire.
