A friend of mine, a Campbell, has many tales of the clans Clan Campbell has "wronged" over the past millennium. He ended up living with another guy while in university who's family still held a small resentment towards Campbells after the Campbells had, well, shown much of their family a less than great time.
I recently learned that a castle may have changed hands from Crawford (myself) to Campbell. Under what circumstances, I'm not sure, but assume they were probably not favorable for my Clan. However, I find it unlikely given the Campbells favoured the Highlands in the far North and the Crawford's sway was all in the Lowlands (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire, through Glasglow, and perhaps as far North as Perth).

Given that my mother's side is descended from a notorious clan, I'll have to agree. They (we) have been referred to as the Hell's Angels of Scotland. A warm "Hello" from your Irish counterparts! See that intrusion along the southern border of Northern Ireland? That's because of my ancestors, along with the McMahons and Brophys. From what I've read, we were such @$$holes that England wanted nothing to do with us and drew the borders around our lands!

A friend of mine, a Campbell, has many tales of the clans Clan Campbell has "wronged" over the past millennium That is interesting. I was, as a young child, still reminded of the wrongs done to the Crawford Clan, by the Campbells. It stemmed back to raids along the Firth of Clyde (a Crawford homeland) and religious differences between the two clans. My great-grandfather would have shunned you amaruq for just hanging out with a Campbell. I am far more lenient and will only taunt you occasionally.

I was not aware of these wrongs (aside from the questionable castle trading). I haven't been able to find any lineage beyond my own great-grandfather Crawford, so I've only recently started digging into the 'ancient' Crawford history. Are there any resources you could recommend?
