I was interested to see which bird species were included in the research. The abstract of the research article is linked to the word "analysis." The full research article is by fee only. But the abstract gives only the number of species studied but not how those species were chosen. So 129 species were included in the research out of possibly 10,000 or more species worldwide ( source). I don't have any particular reason to doubt the research, but it does include barely over 1% of bird species. So it will be important for the credibility of the research to know how those species were chosen. Otherwise, it makes sense to me. And the smaller size seems to conform to Bergmann's Rule: Anyway, thanks for the link. Climate change will bring some sobering news for all of us, I suspect.

So I assume lizards are also getting bigger? Welcome our neo-dinosaur overlords. No, they’d also be getting smaller, since they also live in hot places.

Good point. So we have no information (in this thread) about what reptiles will do.

Yes, cooler/colder climates favor warm blooded animals for obvious reasons. Contrawise, warmer/hotter climates favor cold blooded creatures. Species tend to increase in size in favorable climes. It is not a hard and fast rule, but it does hold true in general.
