Distraught, but short on cash and no trips in the works at the time...I bought this cheap knock off on Amazon. That's actually a well-reviewed pillow, I'm glad you like it. Another budget option is Outdoor Vitals, which is still offering their pillow for free, all you have to pay is shipping: link. I picked one up recently, and though I haven't field-tested it yet, it seems quite comfortable.

Well, "free" except for the "cost" of receiving a vast volume of advertising from Outdoor Vitals after they send you the pillow. But yeah, I have one of those pillows and it does quite nicely for me. I was always one of those "I don't need no stinkin' pillow" guys, but it does definitely improve my quality of sleep in the backcountry.

I just ordered the pillow that trinity mentioned but my holding my thoughts on it until I try it out in a couple of weeks. I've been sorely disappointed in pillows in the past. Either my head slides around on them or the pillows themselves move all over the place. At the moment I still just use my stuff sack that has my extra clothes in and works fine for me. But I'll give this $6.56 pillow a chance.

I ordered two. I have twins and the second one adds $10. I also wanted to throw them a little more cash. Maybe selfishly wanting to encourage the free stuff thing but also they are a USA cottage producer.

I think I do need that thermometer. I hang a little analog thermometer from my pack to get some idea of temps, but it’s almost impossible to read. That describes mine exactly. A $3 purchase 20 years ago. However, I also use to carry a travel alarm clock that weighed like 2ozs that had time and temp but that is so beat up now the batteries fall out too easily. So I'm considering this... www.amazon.com/dp/B0CFC1NNDJ/I like Gabby's suggestion of a bluetooth one but I don't want to turn on my phone just to see the temp.

I've moved into the geriatric fringe. The must have now is what was unthinkable a few years ago, a chair. Our Helinox Zeros have been a joy to have. We originally bought them for bike touring, but they have made for some comfortable camping in the backcountry. I can sit in my chair and cook and eat and feel like I'm a King on a throne. Not that kind of throne, still kinda doing the chairless thing for that.......

The must have now is what was unthinkable a few years ago, a chair. I haven't done that yet. Before I do that I'll need to find a way to trim 16oz from my current setup. It can probably be done, no doubt but for now I'm pretty happy without one.

...foam seat/knee pad ½ Thick Blue Foam 8"x13" at 2.5 oz. Holy Toledo, Westy , what's that made of? I carry one made from 0.5-inch Walmart blue pad that's a tad over 12" x 18" (more than double the size of yours) and it weighs only 1.8 oz.

...a chair. Our Helinox... I too soccumbed to the geriatric muse and also own a Helinox. But I swear I only carry it on short trips (light food load) or trips where I think I'll be above treeline (low probability of a good sitting log). (I'm so ashamed...)

Nice thing about using a hammock. It makes the best chair as well.

I bought the REI version, a hair lighter and a large hair cheaper. Also only to be used on trips of no more than 3 nights. I have the .2-oz Qwikback chair for longer trips.
Last summer I met a PCT through-hiker, probably in his 30s, who decided about the CA border that a chair was totally worthwhile. It doesn't have to be age.
