Anyone on the forum listen to and(or) collect vinyl albums? I got a turntable about 3 years ago and have slowly been building my collection. I inherited my mom's collection, which included original pressings of the white album, dark side of the moon, volunteers, & surrealistic pillow, amongst others.
Lets see some photos of how you display your collection, how you show off the "now playing", and your set up in general.

I never let go of my vinyl and upgraded my turntable a couple years ago as well. I have a bunch of pro audio equipment, some of which I'll be using to digitize some of them that aren't available digitally now.

We gave my son a turntable/cassette player for Christmas. I've turned my entire collection over to him.

I even have the Fisher hifi my parents bought in the... early 60s? AM, FM, 33 1/3, 45, 78. Analog. Buttons and knobs. I had it fixed up so that it would actually work, but never use it. My youngest daughter ended up with some of my old albums, and she's not exactly close by. I think it'd be great to listen to a baseball game that I don't care about on that box. I remember falling asleep listening to the Washington Senators on a radio by my bed, occasionally adjusting the knob to retune to the (presumably AM) signal. "Hondo [ Frank Howard] waves the war club..." He was 6'7" and 275 or more pounds. He used to launch stratospheric shots into the upper deck.
It's obviously not a good turntable, but I have a much better one in the basement, where it languishes, dreaming of being used with my substantially pared down collection of LPs someday.

I listened to hundreds of hours of Ernie Harwell on AM radio as a kid and young adult. It was a nice way to relax.

That was a big Orioles year, so I wouldn't be surprised if he got short shrift in the headlines. I remember reading a lot more about Boog Powell, Brooks Robinson, and Frank Robinson back then. Of course it was an even better Tigers year, which I'll always appreciate.
Back on the topic of vinyl (sort of), I'm in most danger of losing stuff I have on cassette. I don't feel motivated to convert them now that my good deck has a broken belt.

By the time I had enough money to buy vinyl, it had been replaced by CDs. I had a couple of albums, long gone and at one point a collection of mostly pirated cassette tapes, which I have also ditched. I hang onto the CDs though. Not a very big collection, but it’s something when I want music.

I have a collection of records...some my own, some were left on the property when we bought it and some from my dad. I don't have a turn table except for an old Magnavox...one of the first compact stereo units. It is made of sort of pressed cardboard and covered with textured paper and looks like a square suitcase.
I was looking at selling the albums but the local guy that was going to catalog them passed away. My first vinyl was the 45 Ride Captain Ride, by the Blues Image. Of course, the ones that were here on the property and from my pa are older.
In my youth, we first listened to Classical music (supposedly made smart kids smarter.) Then it was cowboy music followed by Hawaiian tunes. We listened to a lot of radio (of course, baseball games,) before we had a television set.
