I'm a lazy cuss, so I'm not going to write the TR here, since the whole thing is on my blog. Just a little teaser for you all, with a few nice photos and a link. This was a hike I did in the first week of September in Washington's Alpine Lakes Wilderness, with my brother-in-law. Three nights, 4 days, though I was supposed to stay out longer (smoke did me in).
We hiked in and spent one night at Robin Lakes, for sunset and sunrise photos, then two nights at Marmot Lake to allow the dayhike to Dip Top Gap.
Here are a few photos: Robin Lake in the afternoon, with Mt. Daniel.
Same scene at dawn. Rainier is just visible if you look hard enough.
Jade Lake, en route to Dip Top Gap.
Mt. Daniel and Pea Soup lake, with me on the right and my BiL on the left. You want to see really good photos of all this, check out his web page.

Thanks for posting this here. Your pictures seem to be less processed than his. Maybe I'm just not aware of what all is possible.

My photos are definitely less processed. I think that not only do I know a lot less about it, but I’m trying more for what I saw, while he is doing it with an eye to commercial viability—which for now, means a little over-saturated.

Some of my favorites! I once did a daytrip to Pea Soup Lake, but came in from the Pacific Crest Trail (off-trail brush bash; the route can be seen from Robin Lakes). I never did the 'traditional' approach to Dip Top Gap, although I have been to Jade Lake. Pea Soup LakeI really like your brother-in-law's photos.
