Are you an Amazon user? If you are, are you going through the AmazonSmile portal? Instead of using amazon.com, if you go through smile.amazon.com, Amazon donates 0.5% of the prices of your "eligible" purchases to a charitable organization of your choice. There's no difference in the app or web pages (they're both amazon) and all of your account info is shared. I've been using it for years and I find that almost everything I buy is eligible.
Thought I'd mention it here because my charitable organization is the Grand Canyon Conservancy. Most of the NPS associated fund-raising organizations are in the list, as well as thousands of environmental orgs.

Thanks for mentioning this. I've been doing this for years, ever since I found out. Atchafalaya Basin, which extends into 4 states. If you've ever been over the I-10 bridge from Lafayette to Baton Rouge, you spent a lot of time over it. I could tell stories of barrel staves, cypress trees, owls, crawfish, illegal roads, oil spills, etc. But everyone here probably has their own favorite charity and tales. And there's really good food and music down there as well. www.basinkeeper.org/There's some semi-credible evidence that the ivory billed woodpecker may still exist, based on information gathered in the last year. The audio is pretty convincing, but the video is indeterminate at best. Dean and Jody are in the video.

Home of our Halloween On The Bayou (HOTB)for a number of years. Alas, once chuckd passed away, that gathering has ceased.

Home of our Halloween On The Bayou (HOTB)for a number of years. Alas, once chuckd passed away, that gathering has ceased. Yep, right in that area. If we ever meet up near there again, I can get us out in the basin with one of the people who knows it best. He lived in it for months, some days starving, some days with more food than he could eat.

I’m a lifelong Amazon book buyer and I’d never heard of this program that I recall. Maybe they needed better marketing?
Too bad it seemed a nice move, but, yeah, a million eligible organizations is insane.

I'll believe this when they replace it with a new charity program of similar dollar value.

The fact that you had to shop from a slightly different website—not what would come up automatically—meant that many of us who were signed up to make donations missed the chance as often as not. It was mostly a bit of window-dressing ,in my opinion.
