I’m trying to figure out where you took that from.

The odd thing is that I couldn't even count how many times I've driven through Nevada and was always going somewhere else. That photo is a good reminder that Nevada has it's own scenic places to spend time.
I'll try to get a photo posted later this evening.

Okay, near the bottom edge of the photo is the arc of a highway. What is the name of that highway? And in which state is it located?

OK. Another adventure for this one. Name the Mountain. Definitely more work to get to those bristlecones. I was snowed on at the higher campground there.

I’m trying to figure out where you took that from. Pretty sure it was from the Bristlecone Pine trail that starts somewhere near, but not at, the top of the road. The rest of the road was closed due to snow then.

The rest of the road was closed due to snow then. Seems too far back to be the Bristlecone Pine trail—and it does start from pretty much the top of the road. Looking at the map, I’d guess maybe from the Wheeler Peak overlook on the road—I can believe it’s sometimes open that far and closed above, though I know there’s also a gate right above the upper Lehman Creek campground.

Hint: the highway in question varies in elevation between about 6500 feet to almost 8100 feet.

What summit am I just a few yards from?

First hints: The two mountains on the left are named for a U.S. President and famous French General. The higher mountain to the back right is named for a different U.S. President.

A location not too far from my backyard. Can you identify the state(s) and mountain range?

The higher mountain to the back right is named for a different U.S. President. So are the peaks you name in the Presidential Range? or at least in the White Mountains of New Hampshire?
Not my area of familiarity, but I'm guessing Mount Lafayette is the one named for the French general.
ETA: I'll take a wild guess and say you're on Mt. Washington, but it doesn't look like any photo I've seen of the place.

You people and your fancy pants places. And it looks like Hikerjer violated the rules and shotgunned a bunch of posts.

Oops, I guess. What does “shotgunning” a post mean. Is it against rules? Sorry if I violated them. Hope I corrected my transgression. Man, it’s hard to get it right around here.
