I decided to start a new thread, let me know if I am being annoying and if so I can fold all of my questions into one thread. I searched the forum for this topic and didn't return any results so maybe a new thread will help others if they have similar questions.
I have been planning for my trip and I stumbled across Andrew Skurka's guide. The guide covers an area that is much more vast than the area I plan to hike, but I anticipate I will spend more time hiking these sections of Yosemite. With that being said does anyone have this guide? If so would you recommend the guide? Have any reservations or criticisms of the guide? Would it prove helpful for my Rafferty Creek/Vogelsang hike and the alpine lakes in that area? It sounds like the guide goes as far south as Merced Lake so it seems like it would cover my travel plan.

Fwiw? If you’re interested in Yosemite’s highlands a nice place to start I’ve found are with a map overview so things can catch your eye. Tom Harrison offers some as does National Graphic. In both collections there are park overviews, good for at home scanning, then more detailed area focused, Tom Harrison’s does regions, such as Tuolumne Meadows & High Sierra Camp Loop, while National Geographic splits the park in quadrants, NE, NW, SW and SE. ETA: That Tuolumne Meadows one effectively focused in the figure eight route I’d suggested earlier.

This is great, thank you! I have the National Geographic trails illustrated map and that gives me a good bird's eye view of the area. I will pick up the Tuolumne Meadows map as well. I was planning to get the Sierra North book but haven't ordered it just yet.
