Just ordered the original BB lightweight double. and now looking at the mambajamba tarp. My pack has side pouches already on it, and am wondering if the tarp compresses down smaller then what I see on you tube videos of the original stuff sack that it comes in?

I don't have a Mamajamba, but an almost identical hex tarp from UGQ. It squishes down smaller than a 1 liter bottle, and will easily fit in any side water bottle pocket.
A few unsolicited pieces of advice, if you're interested: I greatly prefer Silpoly to Silnylon. It is supposedly less durable, but has much less sag, less water absorption, and is not quite a slippery. Also, I would recommend the side panel pullouts. Using these can greatly increase the space inside your tarp.
I don't see anywhere on the WB site if the ridgeline of their tarps is seam sealed. If they provide this service, I recommend paying for it. I hate seam sealing tarps. But you're probably not as uncoordinated as I am....

I have an 8 x 10 hex cut tarp, and I just tried to squash it into a 1L water bottle. It won't fit while in the snake skin, and I'm not about to take it out to try. I did get it into a 1.5L bottle. I think a better question would be, do you have an old tall and skinny stuff sack? The kind tent poles often come in? The tarp would easily stuff in one like that, and if tall enough, you could use the pack compression straps on the sides to help hold it in the side pocket. Like any gear on the outside of a pack, use 2 methods to attach it to the pack. Maybe run the tarp under a compression strap, and also use a small biner or other clip to attach it to a strap on the pack. I hate crawling through brush, only to have to crawl back to retrieve gear.

I have a Mamajama in Silpoly without any side panel pullouts. I have been in fairly strong winds with it and it has performed well with just the four corner ties. I have extended my poles all the way and used them to open up one side to make it an awning.
