What is the sizing like on Montbell down jackets? Do they run large, slim, true to specs? Thx.
Regards,
DR

Yes, both slender and short. It's good stuff, though, if you get the right fit.

I'm going to dissent here from the others... I have a fair bit of Montbell stuff (USA/Western sizing), and I rate it true to size, but slightly shorter than many makers. My MB Alpine Light down jacket is the exact same fit as the Patagonia Down Sweaters/Nano Puffs/Micro Puffs I have, just slightly shorter.

I'd definitely rate it Small/short compared to other manufacturers that I wear. Would consider going up a size for sure.

Got my jacket last night. Definitely smaller and shorter than my other jackets. Thx for the insight/tips on sizing.

I have a Thermawrap that goes with me on every hike, and a Frostline that is my coldest weather jacket. Great stuff. It may run a bit short, but I live in these things in colder weather.

My old version pocketless Thermawrap is my 8 ounce “Uh oh – – it got colder than I thought it would” (in the middle of the night) insurance. When things are a bit “iffy”, that, my Mysterioso pants and my old cheap snowboarder down jacket pillow get me some sleep.

Well, I just ordered this tonight. Really looking forward to its arrival... While the Superior Hooded Down Parka looks great, is well made and affordable, I would not recommend buying the jacket because it’s not warm. Very disappointed in its warmth. Definitely don’t wear it in the 30s or low to mid-40s. Only feels comfortable (warmth) near 50. Definitely not as warm as my old Patagonia Down Sweater and GoLite Demaree Canyon jackets. Too bad I really likes its look and construction. I’d replace it with a Feathered Friends Eos if I could get one that would fit. Regards, DR

Definitely not as warm as my old Patagonia Dwon Sweater Yeah, I could have told you that I look at the Superior as a summer backpacking piece. I have the Alpine Light. It's warmer than the Patagonia Down Sweater.

“I look at the Superior as a summer backpacking piece.” I’ll pass. Still not warn enough for me even in the summer. Enjoy your weekend, Brad. Happy Trails, DR
