I’d defer to the locals for a wider selection but for me the omelets at The Stove are a must have when I’m in the area. Not that this is hard to guess given my avatar! Lol
My post hike meal of choice, burgers, is probably what I’d look to Mono Cone for, but that’s in Lee Vining.

High Sierra Fan, the Mono Cone is an old favorite! But we’ll come out of the hike and spend the night in Mammoth, so it has to be there. I’ll look into The Stove. I could enjoy an omelet as much or more than a burger…

Ha...I don't dine much in Mammoth or anywhere else for that matter. The last time that I sat down in Mammoth was for an overpriced beer at the Mammoth Lakes Brewery. (I'm spoiled by Sierra Nevada Brewery.)
A few years back we ate at Lopez' and weren't impressed.
Our big after hike indulgence in Mammoth is to go to Grocery Outlet and see what snacks are available in the cheese and deli meat department. We do go out of our way to go to the New York Bagel Company. Love the jalapeno cheese bagels!
If our hike takes us to Lee Ving and beyond, we have to stop at Mono Cone for a buttermilk shake.
And we eat at Tom's Place a few times a year. Chili cheese fries in summer, mountain nachos in winter.

Lol. Mentions of Mono Cone inspired me to grab a room at Murphey’s for a few nights before I’m due inside Yosemite. I’ll get my Twenty Lakes Basin, Harvey Monroe Hall Natural Area and Bodie fixes out of the way pre the park itself. This. Is. Getting. Real ETA TBH I don’t think I’ve ever stopped at Toms Place. In the winter when I’d ski around there it’s closed and other seasons I’m usually in full “get somewhere” mode in that stretch of road. Is that an error I should correct? Hmmm. www.tomsplaceresort.com/cafe-menu-.html
