Ran across large clusters of this in the Wichitas this spring. Off and on been trying to find it online with no luck. Does anyone know what it is?

Thanks tallgrass! Found the easy blooms like Opuntia, Trilliaceae and Castilleja blooms long ago, but had know clue where to start looking for this.

I believe this is a form of Coreopsis, but am not sure. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Image captured on the Ichetucknee River in central Florida.

This looks like what I call a Tiger Lily but on this plant the flowers were inverted. I paid the price to get this picture by walking through some stinging nettles in my shorts. Ouch!! However, if you can tell me what it is it'll be worth it.

It's a "Turk's Cap" lily. Thanks a ton! I'm not sure if far west Pennsylvania is considered "mid-Atlantic" but it is where I found this beauty and indeed it was along a stream.

And all the latin names put me to shame, because I can't do more than say this was clumps of penstamen and...maybe another sort of penstamen.
