I just read this in the Flagstaff newspaper. Here is a link to a Phoenix TV station story about it.

Yep. It's happening more and more. Tucson is in an extreme drought. In 2020 we had our lowest total rainfall on record at 4.17 inches. This year may be the same or even lower. Lake Powell and Lake Meade are at their lowest levels in decades.

Early 70's on Prescott National Forest, manning roadblocks during the fire closures to screen folks that had inholdings like a summer residence cabin in the NF, was not a bad summer High School job. Paid GS-2.

You will want to check on what is allowed, but I saw in the Williams newspaper online, that the national forests have reopened with fire restrictions.

And next week, record heat is now forecast over much of The West though not as hot in the northwest. Death Valley is looking at 130F. Desert species will all be in range prune back modes, especially rodents and reptiles. Well except mesquite haha. Next week, 2 of us will be in timberline with patches of still melting snow, cold pure water streamlets, wildflowers, and greenery, slowing down base camping up above 10k for a week.
