Love me some good game-camera fun...and that is as fun as I've seen. Thanks!

Ha! I'm not really sure what's going on ... we have had a wolf, moose, deer, multiple black bears, and of course grizzlies checking out the camera up close. I imagine it's because of my scent on the camera from touching it. I tried cleaning one of the cams with windex, but a black bear came right up to it and gave it a good sniff the very next day Most animals have an acute sense of smell. You can clean the outside, but the camera will still smell, and they can probably even smell the residual Windex. www.businessinsider.com/dogs-trained-sniff-hidden-electronics-2018-10

Most animals have an acute sense of smell. It really is amazing to see some of the smelling behavior. I have a grizzly crossing in front of the cameras from about 2 weeks ago, and then a wolf came through the same direction 24 hours later. The wolf stopped at the exact branch the grizzly had sniffed & nipped at, and paused for several seconds giving it the once over before continuing on. The bears really look like they are following their noses when they come to the camera ... a few times it looks like they are genuinely surprised when all they get to is some bumpy thing on a tree. The Windex was an experiment, but yeah, I kind of figured it would just leave another interesting smell on the camera. One thought I had was that it wouldn't be a natural smell, so they would be more inclined to sniff and leave it alone. Not sure how that's working yet. I've got to get a program that I can combine videos together, and then maybe set up a you tube channel for better quality posting. My website isn't very good for videos, as it is more designed for stills.

I've found bears to be incredibly curious too. They something out of the ordinary, they're going to investigate.

They do little to nothing against a bear, but you can lock them and have piece of mind when leaving a camera on public ground.

They do little to nothing against a bear, but you can lock them and have piece of mind when leaving a camera on public ground. I have 3 cameras set along this snowshoe route of ours, which is essentially a short old discontinued forest service road ... and I've placed each camera at least 150 metres down some overgrown spur tracks which run off this FSR. So far in the past 4 months, there has only been one guy on an ATV that triggered any of the cameras. Exceptionally quiet area, and the cameras certainly don't stand out much so they are easy to miss. The reason we like to snowshoe there is because it's far from town so nobody drives that far, and the past two winters we've had it virtually to ourselves. If we start seeing more human activity, I'll be checking out those boxes. Thanks for tip!

Does anyone know if there are laws about trail cams? I could see there being some privacy issues for an essentially hidden cam if it is catching people on it. Also if someone takes your cam they "found" out in the woods is that stealing?

If you grew up in the '60's you'd be 'liberating' it.

If you are looking for a laugh, here's one video that made me cringe when I heard it. This black bear definitely makes Browning trail cams look pretty darn rugged! Black Bear Attempts to Make Me $200 Poorer.A quick note on my trail cams ... I've figured out how to combine videos, and even include a video slideshow of the still photos that we experimented with for a two week period (before switching back to video mode), so now I have a 20 minute video of all the action we've captured so far from April 9 to June 17 (all 3 cams combined in chronological order). It's pretty cool but my internet speed at home sucks, so uploading it is not going to happen until I can get to a business in town with good upload speeds. The weather up here is finally supposed to be good next week, so we're going backpacking in Jasper. I'll post a link when I get it done.
