Gram counters weigh every item, and accuracy requires a good scale.
That is something I do not have, so I'm looking for recommendations that won't break the bank.
Thanks in advance.

link I chose a kitchen scale from Amazon, but any good kitchen store should have one, as well as Target type places.

Thanks bradmacmt and zeke, both products are what I asked for and have the same weight limit for about the same price. Not easy to choose, but I kinda like the separate weigh platform in the Pohl Schmitt design.

As an aside, it's surprising to me how inexpensive the products linked here are. I've been using an old spring kitchen scale that was my mother's for a long time, because I assumed that an accurate digital scale that would hold heavier weights would be far more expensive than it apparantently actually is.

Y'all didn't read the original post; he asked for gram-weenie accuracy. If this is for a beginner who might have individual items heavier than <gasp> 10 oz, there are better options.

texasbb the first two linked weigh up to 11 pound items. Anyone who owns a single item heavier can hardly be blamed for trying to lighten their load.

the separate weigh platform in the Pohl Schmitt design. Driftwoody, what does "separate weigh platform" mean? I'm not following. The item on the weighing platform is less liable to obscure the digital readout if the display is not integral to the weighing platform itself. My bigger lab scales had that feature. A floating weighing platform and a separate, built into the instruments body, display and control panel. That way 4L beakers could be sat on the platform, tared (you hit a button and the scale rezeros so the user doesn’t have to do the math of constantly mentally subtracting the container weight when weighing something out like salt), and a whole bunch of some loose powder chemical could be weighed out to a desired amount by just watching the display that wasn’t hidden under the beaker.

he asked for gram-weenie accuracy ... and something that doesn't break the bank (considerably less than $1,359.00).
