Hi, my name is Peter, this is my first post. I am getting into longer than day or two hiking. Now I am collecting pieces and bits to have fun on my trips. I would like to ask question about this jacket: Arc'teryx Men's Nuclei Hoody. Is it a good investment to buy this particular piece, or go with Ghost Whisperer? For now I have a Reebok Outwear jacket, which is warm but bulky. Please share your knowledge.

Heavy jackets are rarely a good hiking idea: layers are far more flexible so when you warm up from exercise you're not faced with Just One Jacket to either sweat in or remove and get cold(er). Heavy insulated jackets are rather specialized tools. For general hiking layers offer more usage.

Price drop.
$250 to your door. Or will trade for a comparable down jacket in a Medium.
