I have a tiny toothbrush and toothpaste container that was part of a courtesy kit on the Concorde. Still has the logo on it. My wife worked for a doctor that flew on it frequently, and she got it for me. Used to have a razor, but lost that a long time ago....

My neon green Croc knock-off camp shoes. The "knock-off" part makes them lighter and cheaper than Crocs, 7oz for the pair (my real ones are 11oz.) I think I feel about camp shoes the way others feel about a camp chair; have to have mine. Crocs are perfect, IMO. Easy to slip on/off but still protects the toes, comfy, and waterproof. I have a pair of Croc-like rubber fisherman's sandals that make for just about perfect camp shoes. They stay on a little better than the croc style, and drain really well, both of which are great for crossings. I've had them for years, but I'm pretty sure I bought them from Walmart for no more than $10. So maybe that should have been my answer, too. I agree aboiut camp shoes being essential--I almost never wear my actual boots around camp except when it is snowy. I may have the same Walmart knock-offs, and they're one of the best things I've ever bought. For 10 years, I'd just leave them outside my backdoor and use them for outdoor shoes, but I've generally used them for camping and they've been great. Super light. Super easy on and off. Keep my feet protected. Hard to beat. I think they were $7.

Love it.

My bandana. I have a Buff, balaclava, and hats and use them when conditions warrant. But a bandana is multi-use and I typically use one a lot of every day when I'm on the trail.

There was some sort of event or project or something that my son did in elementary school (i.e. ~15 years ago) that required a bunch of bandanas. I don't even remember what it was anymore. What I do know is that I have two+ dozen bandanas, the classic design, in pretty much every color they come in. I've given a few away but I have enough to last a lifetime, and then some. When I die and someone has to go through my stuff, they're going to find this stack of bandanas and wonder what kind of weird fetish I had.

Ernie, it was the OP who defined "minor" gear as pretty much everything other than the big 3 or 4. And yes, I feel I have everything in my pack dialed in. It only took a few years, several thousand dollars and countless spreadsheets, easy peasy.

I think it is a fun topic. JRinGeorgia out of your regular equipment is there one "minor" piece that might pop out as a standout? I know your equipment reflects a lot of work to make sure it all has value but is there one little thing that maybe shines brighter than some of the others?

My Sierra Designs Booties. Not needed, but pure pleasure. On my recent trip I lost the Sierra Designs booties I've had for more than a decade. Set them aside when changing into boots before breaking camp, I didn't spot them next to the campfire log seat before I left. It's a well used campsite, so somebody probably picked them up. I already replaced them with these: They're larger and more insulated, but lighter than they look. Haven't used them yet, other than to try on.

Wiggy's? Did you buy a sleeping bag, too? I'm set with sleeping bags, but one of these days I might buy a top quilt.
