When do you plan to be in Breck/Frisco/Dillion?

Assuming Summer Alma isn't to far from Breck so Lincoln, Democrat, and Bross might be what you're looking for if the access isn't ____ed up again. Quandry would be a little less driving.
If you don't mind a bit more driving one of my absolute favorite places in all of Colorado is the Lynch Creek approach to West Buffalo Peak. Aside from the Umcompahgre Plateau the largest summer herd of Elk I ever saw in Colorado was up there and that ridge is seminal.

What length hike do you have in mind? What time of year?

Also, TrailElder is probably your go-to source here.

Yeah...not sure where to start @chuck the Mauler. Maybe a little more about what you are looking for and when you'll be there? One can find anything and everything in the area. Trick is crowd avoidance, and right now trail conditions. It's 50+ degrees up there this weekend, so snow is melting. But more on the way.

Thanks for the reply's. Had a buddy there this week to ski and wanted to take his kid (18year old) out on a day hike too. Just trying to get him some intel as I'm not familiar with the area.

Did you end up getting out on a hike? Most of what I might have suggested would likely have been too high altitude, unless you were snowshoeing. There is a trail up toward Vail Pass call Bowman's Shortcut which is one of the better "lower key" dayhikes I've done in the area, with nice views of the Gores to the north. But if I remember the approach road correctly, it's probably not accessible in March. There would be some beautiful lower country accessible this time of year up Tenmile and Meadow creeks, out of Frisco.
