I want to add my best wishes for you, swimswithtrout. And F**k cancer, too. We were in the same predicament with my mom, Sleeping Bag Man!. Definitely a fine line to walk - giving up the independence of the car, using a walker/cane. I hope your mom can come to terms with the changes that aging brings.

I will...still in a state of shock and trying to process everything. I have an appointment with an oncologist next week. So sorry to see this! There are mountains that still need to be climbed, tell the doc you have no time for this nonsense.

One uncle...41. Skin cancer (LA sun lover) Two friends have backpacked with..... 23. Alcoholic liver disease (Some brothers still alive going down same road, beer addicts) Beloved mother...22. Leukemia (likely due to being X-ray nurse during WWII) Beloved father ...18. Parkinson's disease (leading to stroke likely due to exposure to work chemicals)
Beloved lone sister (May 2020...8. Pneumonia and influenza (ventilator, Pandemic) Great aunt... 4. Lung cancer (smoker)
one brother...3. Stroke and other cerebrovascular diseases (drug abuser)
David's heart is still beating but has lived all his adult life after barely surviving at age 20 not (39. Aortic aneurysm and ripping) but rather a related uncommon splenic artery pseudoaneurysm and resulting regular peritoneal infections including ischemic pancreatitis that may one day still get me if not careful.
