But you have no way of knowing that since, by definition, you don't know what all has been suppressed. (I mean generic, third-person "you," of course.) This continues to puzzle me. Do you have some reason to distrust the moderators? Some evidence of them not acting in good faith? Or are you just flinging feces? Your first sentence of your first post in this thread: I assume this was removed because it reveals a truth inconvenient to the moderators' preferred narrative. This seems to me like it is well beyond the generic "we should always ask questions" (which I agree with, BTW). It's pretty specifically accusatory toward the mods. I would suggest that this kind of claim needs to either be backed up with evidence or not made in the first place.

Do you have some reason to distrust the moderators? Some evidence of them not acting in good faith? Or are you just flinging feces? Oh, please, cweston ! My complaint has nothing to do with these particular moderators or this particular topic. My post above, quite obviously I think, highlights a simple, straightforward fact about censorship: that there's no way anyone can know what is being hidden from them, hence no one can know whether the hidden info is obvious misinformation or true information removed due to its inconvenience to the censor, the bias of the censor, the ignorance of the censor, or simple accident on part of the censor. I don't trust any censor implicitly, nor do I think anyone else should, nor do I perceive that very many do.

We can't "ask questions" if we don't even know what the topic is (see the rest of the post you quote). My acerbic tone, as I've already explained, was intentional, intended to drive home the point of just how illogical it is to promote truth by keeping people in the dark. What is anyone supposed to think when information is being hidden from them? Censorship reaps what it sows: distrust and division. I do wish you a happy Thanksgiving in the midst of these difficult Covid times.

I do wish you a happy Thanksgiving in the midst of these difficult Covid times. I wish the same to you. We're having a very quiet Thanksgiving--neither of our out-of-state "kids" and their spouses are coming (wisely), but our youngest (24) is living with us these days, so thankfully we're not all alone.
